The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
Little, Brown Book Group announced that the new novel by J.K. Rowling is entitled “The Casual Vacancy”. The book will be published worldwide in the English language in hardback, ebook, unabridged audio download and on CD on Thursday 27th September 2012. It is approximately 480 pages.
Synopsis:
When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock.
Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
Blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising, The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.

We had a guy who sent a lot of pictures of me from when I was between the ages of 13 and 15, and he circled my crotch in all the photos with an arrow to it and the words, ‘Do you have an erection here?’

BREAKING NEWS: JK ROWLING’S FIRST ADULT NOVEL
JKR has finally sealed the deal with Little, Brown Book Group and will soon be releasing her new ADULT novel. The publish date and the title is yet to be revealed.
Rowling had this statement in the release: “Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry’s success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.”
This article is hilarious and inspiring, it’s about people’s shrines to films/people/music ect. This one made me laugh so hard, it’s captioned “A shrine dedicated to two of my best friends and Snape” hahaa. Some are really good though (this is #123)
Emma to work side by side with David Yates again!
We’ve just learned that Warner Bros is currently in negotiations to pick up Your Voice in My Head, a drama based on the memoir of writer Emma Forrest, which is being directed by Harry Potter’s David Yates!
We’re ALSO hearing that Emma Watson is in talks to take on the lead role of “a young woman who attempts suicide before being saved by a New York-based psychiatrist who’s dying of cancer.” Sounds intense!
As far as the lead male role is concerned, it sounds like the studio is aiming REALLY high! Names like Tom Hanks and George Clooney have even come up in conversations!
er no Oscar nomination for Alan Rickman :( but three for Best Art Direction, Makeup and Visual Effects

“There’s this idea that Emma, Rupert and myself are the best of friends who always hang out together. I’m just going to put out there, Emma and I text all the time but Rupert and I never text each other, we never see each other. If I see him every six months or so, it’s a friendly ‘hello, how’s things with you’ but that’s about it.” -Daniel Radcliffe
this is depressing.

“Jo (J.K Rowling) always talked about him as being vulnerable, most bullies are. They’re actually hugely insecure and have their own problems, and he has the worst parental guidance of any child I’ve ever seen in my life..” - Tom Felton
