About the film (after 9 hours to calm self)

  • I loved it. Watching again today
  • It was really funny :)
  • It really emphasised for me that it’s a separate entity from the books, and while they’re parallels it’s difficult to compare
  • however, why couldn’t Harry just be invisible and then just reaveal himself, alive, to Voldie?
  • and in the books the biggest shock for me was the whole Draco / elder wand thing which I just didn’t see coming and it’s not a shock in the movie
  • I loved how well they consolidated major bits. Like in the great hall with all the students and Snape’s like ‘come forth yew hp-helpers’ and he steps forward and it’s all like bam. That was just a faster and more dramatic version of the whole Carrow&tower and hallway Snape-shaped hole thing
  • It was clever they made Harry be able to feel horcruxes. Saved a lot of explanatory time and fit well
  • Neville didn’t even know he was supposed to kill the Snake
  • There were bits that could’ve been in there with only like an extra minute. Like Harry telling Neville to kill the Snake, and Kreacher leading the elves with Reg’s locket
  • Who the hell would ship James/Lily when you can have Snily?!?!
  • I adored how all the important dialogue was just lifted straight from the books
  • Aberforth looks nothing like I thought he would, I was picturing someone like Gibbs from PotC with longer and whiter hair
  • BADASS AWARDS - MCGONAGALL SNAPE NEVILLE
  • The kiss was good
  • Bonnie you suck. Ginny’s so fiery and fun and you are a wooden stick. I don’t see how Harry could like this Ginny
  • Ron and Hermione were around the perfect amount
  • Harry to Draco - “Why didn’t you tell her?”, I literally blurted out “about us?” it just fit so well and omg my Drarry heart
  • I really liked how everything wasn’t Harry’s idea, Hermione thought about the dragon and Luna about the Grey Lady instead of the tower
  • Why did Remus and Tonks never touch hands? Why why why cry
  • Snape dying was just so viscous
  • It pleases me that now all the non-bookers will see what a hero Snape is
  • It was incredible ending to the film series, I’ll likely add more to this later
